Hello everyone! I also still adore the products listed in my holy grail cosmetics post (you can see that previous post
here.) I cannot imagine ever changing my favorite mineral foundation, the primer, the eyeliner (this product was in a separate post, listed
here,) etc. However, a few of these have been replaced or temporarily swapped out. Below you can see what has changed from my original holy grail list. Everything else has remained consistent.
Nars Albatross Highlighter (replacing the Too Faced Bronzer.) If you prefer a dewy, glowing look, then this product is for you! It comes in the same form as a blush and looks fantastic as a highlight on the upper cheek bones, along the center of your nose, the cupid’s bow, chin, and forehead. This product looks gorgeous in certain types of lighting and, of course, in the sun! If you prefer a more matte look, then I would probably suggest against this one.
Nars Orgasm Blush (replacing the Nars Angelika blush.) Pretty much everyone and their dog has this blush. It’s considered a “colt favorite.” I seem to always stick with Nars blushes, primarily this one and the other listed in my holy grail post mentioned above. The color is a beautiful shade of pink with little gold flecks throughout it. This product somewhat ties in with the Albatross highlighter in regards to the “glow” factor.
Benefit “They’re Real” Mascara (replacing the Buxom Amplified Lash mascara.) Hello megalashes! A few coats of this stuff and people will be asking you non-stop if you are wearing fake eyelashes, hence the name. If you like volume and length in your lashes, go pick this up..pronto! The only negative: Although this claims to be a regular mascara, it tends to act as a waterproof and can be a bit tricky to remove at night.
Buxom Lips, color Destiny. This lipgloss is basically the Nars Orgasm blush I mentioned above in a liquid form for your lips. Once again, a gorgeous shade of pink with gold flecks for your lips. This gloss has a decent amount of shimmer to it—just a heads up as I know that is not everyone’s cup of tea.
Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Under Eye Concealer (replacing the Benefit Erase Paste.) I seriously never thought I would stray from my Erase Paste for under eye circles, darkness, etc. I must admit, this guy has stolen my heart. The only issue I have with most under eye concealers is the creasing! Don’t you just hate those lines? If you have this problem I beg of you to go check this stuff out!! I promise, you will not regret it. Plus, it’s a drug store brand and far less expensive compared to the higher end lines. The liquid is a bit more gel based than a paste and works wonders!
Tweezerman: It's tough to say what makes these so different from any other pair of regular tweezers. But, they ARE! There's just something about the metal tips, the point, shape, and angle/slant of the edges that allows you to easily pluck brows. The word that best describes these would be precision. I feel like I am able to pull the brow each time on my first try (as opposed to the five or six tries it seems to take me with other tweezers ha!) These are limited edition with this adorable little elephant charm hanging on the end! You can't beat that :) The only negative: pricey! Nonetheless, I still think these are worth the price.
What are your favorite beauty/cosmetic products from October? Which ones do you like to switch up from time to time? I must confess, I am always changing my mascara so you will probably see that one change from month to month. I’m pretty certain the Nars highlighter, blush, and Maybelline Age Rewind will probably stay in my holy grail bag for quite some time.
Please let me know if you have any questions. Thanks for stopping by J
