june/july-ish favs.

I was really hoping to add velcro rollers to this list of favorites.  Sadly, they didn't work out for me :(  Since this is a beauty related post, I figured I should share these ridiculous Cindy Lou Who-Esq pictures of me trying out the rollers.

Any products I have mentioned in previous "favorites" posts are absolutely still at the top of my list. I just don't want to be redundant and repeat the same things over and over again.  I'm still using everything I have written about before.  These are just some new gifts and finds that I am loving at the moment.  Now onto the good stuff!

mere's 29th birthday/4th of july, 2012.

Happy 4th of July, America!

OMG! I'm seriously in the final year of my 20's?!?!

If I know Blake, he's probably wishing I would mention that the "lighter" grass in the picture is from the sun and it's truly all one color ha! My sweet husband spends a LOT of time on the yard and is quite the perfectionist. Job well done, babe.

Anyone else into this beer? It's quite tasty! The perfect summer brew.

My parents gave me this watch I have been lusting over.

Pardon my "man  hand" above.  I guess up close my hand/arm turned into three times it's actual size hahaha. This picture makes me laugh. Creeper..

I took the family to my office while they were in Houston. It was so fun to be able to show them where I work, how I drive to work, my daily routine, and all of that jazz.

Natalie pretending to be me at work. Flipping hilarious.

Clearly Blake is taking this little work adventure very seriously ;)

My sister made these for my family and I.  She found the recipe on Pinterest and they were absolutely delicious!

Woohoo! Girls trip to Houston's new H&M with my mom, sister, cousin, and aunt! Some girly shop time was a must! We had so much fun together.

Thank you to all of my family and friends for the birthday calls, cards, texts, emails, etc.  I feel so happy and blessed.  I hope each of you had a wonderful 4th of July! xoxo

frittata recipe.

After winding down from an awesome birthday/4th of July, I was craving one last splurge before the work week started up again.  I have always loved frittatas, breakfast casseroles, quiche, and anything of that nature.  While creating this meal tonight, it was somewhat of a trial by fire situation.  Therefore, you can imagine how excited I was when Blake went back for seconds!

You will need:
1 cup milk/soy milk/almond milk
Pepper, garlic salt, and any other seasonings you would like
Shredded cheese (vegan cheese options as well)
1 lb sausage ("Gimme Lean" is a great sausage substitute)
4 eggs (cage free!)
Any veggies you would like (I used green peppers and green onions)

Preheat oven at 400 degrees

Make sure to cook the sausage/meat substitute first.  I like to toss the veggies in at the same time for added flavor.

Mix milk, eggs, and any preferred seasoning into a mixing bowl.

Once sausage/meat substitute is finished cooking, place it in a pre-greased baking dish.

Cover in cheese of your choice.

Pour the egg/milk mixture over the sausage/meat substitute and cheese. Place in oven and cook at 400 degrees for 15-20 minutes or until slightly browned.

Voila!

I added orange slices on the side to make it more of a "meal."

Happy hubby :)

Have a wonderful week!

bathroom project: part 3

The bathroom project has been 99% finished for some time, only lacking a few small details to be complete.  The trim has been installed, hardware mounted, accessories attached, switch plates switched, and everything painted!  It took me so long to make a post, because I thought for sure I would have wrapped it up by now.  Lesson learned, a remodel project (no matter how small) can really wear you down!  The doorknobs are the last piece to the puzzle, but that has obviously not kept us from enjoying our bathroom.  We are so very happy with it and glad that this was our first true stamp on the house to make it ours.  I will be taking a break until undertaking another detailed project, hahah.  Until then, enjoy the pictures!
