My parents and sister came to our house for the weekend to celebrate my dad's birthday. His actual birthday isn't until next weekend but we wanted to celebrate while my little sister was in town.
My sister, Natalie, got him the neatest present. Anyone who knows my dad will agree that this is the perfect gift! She found a LIFE magazine from his actual birth date! How cool is that? As expected, he absolutely adored it. Way to go, Nat!
Above is a picture of my sweet sister. Isn't she precious?
Somehow I didn't manage to get a picture of my mom and I all weekend. Hmph!
While the guys watched some football, the girls went shopping :) I picked up this cute houndstooth scarf and three pairs of fun earrings. I know this Aztec trend will probably fade fast but I am so into this style right now.
My dad is in love with James Coney Island. Whenever my family comes to town this is the first thing on his mind. You can check out the restaurant here. Since my dad grew up in Houston, he went to James Coney Island a great deal as a child and feels a sense of nostalgia whenever he takes that first bite. His love affair with JCI is adorable but we always crush his dreams and suggest other ideas for meals. Poor guy. This weekend that all changed. He was oh so happy.
Apparently, Blake was pretty excited about this decision as well :)
Awww! Look at that smile. He's just beaming!
I have been cooking a lot lately and decided to bake my dad his favorite, cherry ice box pie.
We love you so much Daddy! HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!
xoxo
