Blake needed to visit Cortez, Colorado for a work function and invited me to join. We turned the business trip into a little adventure and traveled to Cortez, Durango, Vail, and Denver.
Blake took me to see one of the rigs at night! It was so special being able to see him in his element.
Below is a picture of Blake during his safety presentation to the rig employees/consultants. I couldn't have been more proud. Truly an incredible presenter.
Our fun rental car for the road trip!
Mesa Verde is a National Park in Southwestern Colorado in between Cortez and Durango. Therefore, this stop was a no brainer for us! Blake had been here before during a work trip, however, we went on a different tour this time. You can check out their website here.
Next stop, Durango!
Well, this was out of character :) Somehow he didn't even feel it the next morning. Blake ordered a whiskey flight. Impressive, Sir.
On our way to Vail, we went through Ouray. One of our best friends, Kelli, grew up here. Talk about an incredible place to live! Geeze Louise. The whole town is in this valley between the mountains. Beautiful!!
We stayed at the Arrabelle Resort in Vail Square which definitely didn't disappoint! It was perfect as we spent time in Lionshead and in Vail Village. We could walk just about anywhere.
Below is our room's balcony.
We were kinda in love with this bathroom. You could even make the tile warm up.
The rooftop pool/hot tub area was ridiculous!
One of our favorite meals was at Blue Moose Pizza. I mean, anything with a moose logo is a-okay in my book!
The ski lift! Crazy gorgeous views!
Our new friends we met at the top of the mountain. Tiny little ponies! SO cute!
Blake was not having the rain :) Luckily it only rained for about 5 minutes ha!
After dinner at the Blue Moose, we headed over to Garfinkels (bar.) It seemed like a common place for the resort/restaurant/ski staff to hang out and reminded me of one of those ski movies (i.e. Out Cold.) I so love that cozy, lodgy vibe even when it's not snowing :)
Vail Village was incredible!
Lunch at Tavern On The Gore was likely our favorite meal. The restaurant sat right above the creek/river that goes through Vail Village. The food, drinks, view, and weather were perfection.
Another friend we met along the way :)
Next stop, Denver! Before checking into our hotel, we went to Great Divide Brewing Co. to take the tour and drink some tasty beverages.
All of the yeti logos were so dang cute!
Aww, how perfect. Blake street!
The trip was more than we could have ever imagined. Blake and I know for sure we will be back. We love you, Colorado!!!!!!!!!!!
